Mavs Fall Short in Game 3, Celtics Take 3-0 Series Lead

Missed Opportunities Plague Dallas as Boston Dominates

The Dallas Mavericks had a dismal shooting night from the field, failing to capitalize on several opportunities in their 106-98 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals. Dallas shot a dismal 3-of-11 from beyond the arc, leaving valuable points on the table. The Mavericks' struggles offensively proved costly as the Celtics took a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.

Celtics Hold Off Mavericks' Comeback Attempt

Despite their poor shooting performance, the Mavericks made a valiant effort to come back in the second half. Led by Luka Doncic's 26 points, Dallas rallied in the third quarter to cut the Celtics' lead to just six points. However, Boston responded with a scoring run in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 29 points, followed by Jaylen Brown's 26 points. The Celtics also dominated the rebounding battle, outrebounding the Mavericks 47-34.

The Celtics now have a chance to sweep the series in Game 4, which will be played in Dallas on Tuesday night. The Mavericks, meanwhile, need to find a way to turn things around quickly if they want to extend the series.
